Beauty and the Beast Book Tag

Graphic made by The Bookish Khaleesi

Hey, everyone! I don't know about you, but with less than a week until Beauty and the Beast opens in theaters, I'm freaking out! I've already bought my tickets for Thursday night, and I cannot wait until this gets here. The animated version was my favorite movie during my childhood, and I've always felt like I've identified most with Belle. (Now I feel like I'm a combination of Belle and Elsa, but Belle is my favorite!)

Like all book tags, this one comes with a few rules:
Rules:

Anyway, when I was sitting at work on Thursday and reading Beauty and the Beast: Lost in a Book by Jennifer Donnelly, I started thinking about a Beauty and the Beast Book Tag. It had been a while since I've done a tag, and I thought about making one, but I'm so glad that it already exists!

So let's go back to Once Upon a Time and see my answers for the Beauty and the Beast Book Tag!

"Tale as Old as Time"

A popular theme, trope, or setting you will never get tired of reading.
For me, I think that's contemporary. I don't know why, especially because it's just like life, but I just really enjoy reading about characters in today's world. The world is constantly changing, so literature is constantly changing, and I really just like real-world and real-life stories.

Belle

A book you bought for its beautiful cover that's just as beautiful on the inside, too.

Oh man... I'm a sucker for buying books just because they have pretty covers. A few of them include the Anna and the French Kiss series, The Queen of the Tearling, Emery Lord's books, and many more.

Beast

A book you didn't expect much from but pleasantly surprised you.

For me, this one would have to be The Star-Touched Queen. I'm not saying that I wasn't expecting a lot from it, but I will admit that I was very afraid that it wouldn't live up to the hype for me. But I read my ARC and fell in love. I was swept away by this enchanting and stunning story.

Gaston

A Book everyone loves, but you don't.

For me, this one goes to The Fault in Our Stars. I just didn't like this book. In fact, I hated it.

Lefou

A loyal sidekick you can't help but love more than their counterpart.

Don't get me wrong, I loved Charlie from The Perks of Being a Wallflower, but I really loved Sam and Patrick. They complete Charlie, but their presence really helps make the book what it is.

An honorable mention for this one also goes to Bellatrix Lestrange. I just love her.

Mrs. Potts, Chip, Lumière, and Cogsworth

A book that helped you through a difficult time or really taught you something.

For me, there are multiple books, and they are the Harry Potter books. I read them after graduating college in a terrible economy with no job offers. Reading them made me feel a bit better about myself and gave me hope that the world really can be a better place with a bit of effort.

 "Something There"

A book or series that you weren't into at first but picked up towards the end.
For me, these would be the books in The Selection series by Kiera Cass. I wasn't too into the first
book of the series, but I warmed up to them and ended up getting swept up by the oddly addicting romance.

"Be Our Guest"

A fictional character you'd love to have over for dinner.
Oh man! I can only pick one? I'm going to go with Lincoln from Rainbow Rowell's Attachments. I know he's kind of odd, but to me, he's oddly endearing. I think he's kind of perfect.

So there you have it! I'm sure some of these answers are predictable if you know me, but this was fun!

I promise not to be annoying and tag anyone. If you're interested, feel free to post it. If you post this sometime this week or already have, link me to your posts so I can see your answers.
